Free cleft palate operation set on Independence Day

DAVAO CITY, June 5 (PIA) A free cleft palate operation will be conducted from June 12 to 20, 2015 at the Brokenshire Hospital.
1Lt. Isis Achanzar-Gabasa, public affairs officer of the Task Force Davao said the operation will be conducted by doctors and nurses who belong to the Smiles Philippines Foundation Incorporated.
She said patients are required pre-screening from their respective barangay health centers where their vital statistics will be taken and accounted for.
Achanzar-Gabasa said the families of patients must take into consideration that they are members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
She said the family must also assign at least one watcher per patient who need familial care after the operation.
“Let us take this opportunity of a lifetime,” Achanzar-Gabasa said.
