Foul play suspected in woman’s alleged suicide in Oro

POLICE authorities are looking into the circumstances of a woman’s alleged suicide inside a motel in Barangay Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City Tuesday evening.

The woman, identified as Lea Muñez, 18, and a resident of Danao Patag, Opol, Misamis Oriental, was brought by her live-in partner Roel Montebon, 42, resident of Tabok, Bulua in this city, to the hospital following her alleged suicide.

Investigators said Montebon left after taking the victim to the hospital.

Montebon and Muñez had been staying in the motel for about two months, according to an employee at the motel.

Victim’s friends also disclosed that the two had a misunderstanding before the Muñez’s death.

Authorities are still waiting for the results of the autopsy conducted by the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) to determine the cause of the victim’s death.

Two intertwined kerchiefs were recovered in the motel room where the couple had been staying.

Investigators also recovered assorted drug paraphernalia in a garbage bin inside the room.
