CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan De Oro City, June 1 (PNA) – Operatives of Northern Mindanao police based here have arrested 43 persons during a week-long anti-illegal drug drive in the region.

Chief Supt. Lyndel Desquitado, Region X police director, said the arrest of the suspects was part of the 911 police operations against all forms of criminality in Northern Mindanao from May 15, 2015 until May 22, 2015.

Desquitado said the 43 illegal drug suspects were nabbed during the 28 anti-illegal drug campaign in Bukidnon, Lanao Del Norte, Misamis Oriental and Cagayan De Oro City.

He said that police operatives seized 160.07 grams of “Shabu” (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride) with an estimated value of Php 1.8 million.

The regional police command collared 83 persons, including the 43 anti-illegal drug suspects, during the 911 police operations in Northern Mindanao.

“It appears that more than one-half of the arrested persons were into illegal drugs. It only showed that the illegal drug trade has continued to grow in the region,” Desquitado said.

Desquitado, who assumed as officer-in-charge of the regional Philippine National Police (PNP) command a month ago, has vowed to intensify the police campaign against all forms of criminal activities in the region.
