LAOAG CITY, Philippines – Michael Fariñas was officially proclaimed as Laoag mayor after the canvassing of votes in the city was completed early Tuesday morning. | |||
The proclamation was a formality because Fariñas ran unopposed. | |||
Poll officials also proclaimed Eddie Domingo as Laoag vice mayor at the conclusion of the tally. | |||
Meanwhile, former president and Puwersa ng Masang Pilipino standard-bearer Joseph Estrada and his running mate Jejomar Binay enjoyed a huge lead over their rivals. | |||
Siblings Imee and Ferdinand Marcos Jr. also have a significant lead over their rivals in Ilocos Norte. | |||
