| MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, May 12 (PIA) -- The Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative (SOLECO) schedules series of information drives throughout the province as their commitment to the provincial government to increase the level of awareness of the stakeholders on the power situation of the province.

| Professor Wally del Mundo of the University of the Philippines National Engineering Center and SOLECO officer-in-charge Arce B. Salazar will assist the information drive entitled “Power 101.”

| Earlier the SOLECO management has committed to the provincial government to disseminate information to the general consumers and the local government sector on the developments that affect the operations and directions of electric Distribution Utilities (DUs) particularly among the electric cooperatives, Salazar said.

| The local electric cooperative aims to increase the awareness of the electricity stakeholders especially business and government heads, barangay officials and community leaders on the power situation of the province, he said.

| The first information campaign shall be conducted at SOLECO Multi-purpose Building in Maasin City then it will be followed at Southern Leyte State University (SLSU)- Sogod Campus in Sogod, Southern Leyte on the second day, he added.

| He further said the speaker for the subject has the layman’s grasp on its intricacies that can be understood even by those who are new to the subject.
