ILOILO CITY (PNA) -- The provincial government here through its Population Office cited several performing teen centers in Iloilo during the 3rd Provincial Teen Center Day and Awarding of 2016 MODEL ILOILO TEENiran on Wednesday.

Engr. Ramon C. Yee, Provincial Population Officer said that the provincial government built teen center to serve as “homes” for teenagers where they can ask questions on topics and issues that they could not understand.

Special awardees included Janiuay National Comprehensive High School as Best in Social Media Advocacy; Pavia National High School, Best in Data Management; Igbaras National High School, Best in Program Presentation; Duenas National High School, Best in Innovations and the Duenas National Comprehensive High School and Pavia National High School as Best Peer Helpers.

Awardees for the major awards were given to the Janiuay National Comprehensive High School, Pavia National High School, Lambunao National High School, Duenas National Comprehensive High School and Igbaras National Highschool.

This year’s recognition ceremony anchored on the theme “Re-igniting Leadership, Commitment and Volunteerism towards responsible adolescents and citizenry” which focuses on the youth or teenagers that has a greater number of victims by the said conditions.

Atty. Jose Donel Traspor, who was the guest of honor, encouraged more teen volunteers.
