The project is in line with the mandate of the DA to promote agricultural development through bottom-up self-reliant farming systems approach that will emphasize equity, productivity and sustainability in the use of agricultural resources.
Pursuant to the MOA, the DA Regional Field Unit-10 shall transfer to the city the project with an actual cost of P88,000 per unit as a grant and regularly monitor the operations and maintenance of the equipment.
For its part, the city shall submit to DA the list of recipients of the project and the utilization, operation, and activity report at the end of every harvest season.
As the caretaker, the city shall turn over the water pump and engine sets to farmers organizations and cooperatives engaged in rice production that are prone to the adverse effects of El Niño, among others.
