Maramba River Lodge is set on a bluff overlooking the Maramba River in the Mosi oa Tunya National Park. Ideally located up river of the Victoria Falls, the lodge provides a most attractive all year round base in a shaded woodland setting. We are often visited by the resident wildlife with elephant wandering through the grounds at certain times of the year.

Maramba River Lodge is situated just 5 km from the Victoria Falls, 5 km from Livingstone CBD and 12 km from the Livingstone International Airport situated on the main Livingstone - Victoria Falls Road. Our proximity to the Falls and its related adventure activities makes Maramba River Lodge an ideal Investment in the fast growing tourism sector of Livingstone and Zambia in general.

The lodge is held on a Certificate of Title running for 99 years from the 1st April 1991. There are 5.8 hectares of land in total with approx. 480 m of river frontage of which approx. 300 m is still undeveloped. Restaurant

From the terrace you have an uninterrupted view west along the river with the sun setting through the Ilala Palms. At this point of the river, elephants come to drink and wallow in the mud on the opposite bank. At night the river is lit up with several flood lights allowing the diners the opportunity to see bushbuck and several other species of game come to the water’s edge to drink. There is for seating 60 people under cover and 70 people on the terrace.

Kitchen The kitchen was completed in July 2008. All of the commercial kitchen equipment was imported new from South Africa and is maintained regularly. The kitchen has the capacity to cater for up to 150 guests. In the time it has been open there have been several large weddings and functions held in the restaurant.

Lounge, Bar and Pool

Together they create a relaxed and invigorating area that allows guests to unwind after an exciting day of activities or have just completed an exhausting mobile safari. The bar/deck only meters from the water’s edge where one can watch the resident hippo and crocodiles drift by. Or cool off in the natural rock pool under swaying palms. But it is as night falls that the lounge becomes the focal point with its large sofas and reading lamps that one can relax with a good book in front of a raging fire.

En- suite Chalets

Each chalet made of brick with a thatched roof is the ideal resting place after a day at the falls; each room comes with walk in mosquito nets and ceiling fan, dressing table, tea/coffee facilities and small safe. En-suites are tiled and the décor thought out is in keeping with the attention to detail that is throughout the lodge.

En-suite Tents

Our luxury tents are a reminder of bygone days and safaris. But these tents come with the luxury of an en-suite open air bathroom which allows one to shower under the stars. Small Safari Tents

The en-suite safari tents are a relative new addition to the lodge, the last being completed at the end of 2008. These tents have proved to be a huge success particularly with mobile safari operators from Botswana and Namibia. With two single beds and small en-suite they are ideal for 1 or 2 nights at the end of a two week safari tour to relax and unwind before jumping on a plane back to the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Each tent has a small en-suite, 2 single beds with mosquito netting, wardrobe and dressing table.

Dome Tents

We currently completed our latest addition to our accommodation range with 5 new 3mt x 3mt dome tents. Each tent sits on a small platform on the banks of the Maramba River. These tents are large enough for a person to stand upright inside. They come with 2 full size single bed mattress and bedding, bedside table and lamp.

There is a dedicated ablution block under canvas and an area to sit and eat a meal. The tents are offered as a B&B but can also be booked as self catering. They are ideal for school groups, VSO or several families who require a more affordable accommodation option.

Guides House

This building was completed June 2011, the reason of the house was to free up more valuable rooms to full paying clients. But also be able to charge tour company less to accommodate their guides thus making us a more affordable option than our competitors. 4 rooms with bunk beds, mosquito netting, wardrobe, bed side table and two shared ablutions. We have a small campground with 6 individual sites ranging in size from 4 pax up to 20, each site has a barbeque stand and table with parking bays for vehicles and grassed areas for tents. There is an ablution block which underwent renovations in April 2011.

This is the hub of the operations with Reception, Front of House Office and Curio Shop on the ground floor. Upstairs is the admin office with desk space for four people to work. Activity Centre

Newly built in June 2011 this building has further improved our customer service in relation to booking all the activities in and around Livingstone with a large display of posters and flyers with a dedicated activities manager. This has shown in the increase in bookings over previous years.
