PEZA reclassifies the economic zone

September 1, 2025

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has upgraded its tourism economic zone in Pampanga to a mixed-use special economic zone. This move allows the zone to accommodate various businesses, including agro-industrial and information technology enterprises, in addition to tourism.
Key Highlights of the Reclassification:
  • Expanded Business Opportunities: The reclassification enables Hann Reserve, a South Korean-led investment firm, to develop a world-class destination integrating industries, agriculture, technology and tourism.
  • Economic Benefits: The project is expected to attract new investments, create quality jobs and boost local communities, solidifying Pampanga’s position as a major growth hub in Luzon.
  • Sustainable Development: PEZA Director General Teresa Panga emphasized that this initiative promotes inclusive, balanced and sustainable growth, aligning with the agency’s mission.
  • Project Details: Hann Philippines Inc. (HPI) will operate on a 455.60-hectare leased property, where it currently runs integrated lifestyle resorts in Clark Freeport Zone.
By reclassifying the economic zone, PEZA aims to attract transformative investments and shape future-ready economic zones across the country
