Badiangan was a barrio in the Municipality of Janiuay, Province of Iloilo. Badiangan was created under Republic Act 5006 of the 6th Congress of the Philippines on June 17, 1967. | |||
The name "Badiangan" was derived from the word "Kabadiangan" which means a place where "badiang" plants grew abundantly. "Badiang" are large leaf fronds resembling giant water lilies that thrive in swampy areas and/or moist grounds. | |||
