Philippines, is the only country in the world which is 85% Catholic that created FIVE(5) national laws "favoring", "promoting" and "financing" the religion of ISLAM.
Then made it unlawful to finance all other religions. Islamic insurgents paid off the architects of the 1987 constitution to insert two words: Muslim and Autonomous.
They classify all the Muslims(Moros) not only as followers of Islam but also as
indigenous people. The only country in the world that has a government commission that caters to Muslims only, for the hajj, for madrasas, and the spread of Islam at government's expense PAID by the taxes of Non-Muslims. A government-run Muslim channel, Salaam TV to promote Islam.

Religion is always good for the people but it should never be embraced or financed by government. Tax exemption is not tantamount to financing. Every non-profit organization is tax-exempt.

Dietary supplement is a product that contains vitamins, minerals, herbs or other botanicals, amino acids, enzymes, and/or other ingredients intended to supplement the diet. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has special labeling requirements for dietary supplements and treats them as foods, not drugs.

Manufacturers and distributors of dietary supplements and dietary ingredients are prohibited from marketing products that are adulterated or misbranded. That means that these firms are responsible for evaluating the safety and labeling of their products before marketing to ensure that they meet all the requirements of DSHEA and FDA regulations.

Wars of ancient history were about possessions, territory, power, control, family, betrayal, lover's quarrel, politics and sometimes religion.

But we are in the Modern era and supposedly more educated and enlightened .

Think about this. Don't just brush off these questions.

  • Why is RELIGION still involved in WARS? Isn't religion supposed to be about PEACE?
  • Ask yourself; What religion always campaign to have its religious laws be accepted as government laws, always involved in wars and consistently causing WARS, yet insists that it's a religion of peace?

WHY??

There are only two kinds of people who teach tolerance:
  1. The Bullies. They want you to tolerate them so they can continue to maliciously deprive you. Do not believe these bullies teaching tolerance, saying that it’s the path to prevent hatred and prejudice.
  2. The victims who are waiting for the right moment to retaliate. They can’t win yet, so they tolerate.

  • Marinduque lies between Tayabas Bay to the north and Sibuyan Sea to the south. *It is located south and west of Quezon, east of Mindoro, and north of Romblon.

Marinduque is an island province between the Bondoc Peninsula in southeastern Luzon and Mindoro Island. It is bounded on the north and west by Tayabas Bay, on the east by Mompog Pass, and on the south by the Sibuyan Sea.

The island is a volcanic mass with mostly plains on the western part and mountains on the eastern side, rising in the south to Mt. Malindig at 1,157 m. It has 17 outlying islets, mostly in the north, but the more familiar ones are in the southwest: the Tres Reyes, named after the biblical Three Kings and the Elephant Island resort. The province has two pronounces seasons: dry from December to May and wet the rest of the year. It is occasionally on the path of typhoons.

History of Marinduque, Philippines

Note: This history line is from the LGU of Marinduque:

Legend has it that the heart-shaped island was formed as a consequence of a tragic love affair between Marina and Garduke. Because Marina's father disapproved of the romance, her ordered the beheading of his lover. Before this could be done, however, the pair sailed out to sea and drowned themselves. The island that rose from the waters became Marinduque. Another version says that the original name of the island was "Malandik" which was derived from its highest peak, Mt. Malindig. Because the Spaniards found this hard to pronounce, they called the island Marinduc which eventually became Marinduque.

When Martin de Goiti and Juan de Salcedo, two Spanish conquistadores, returned to the Philippine islands in 1569, and conquered Manila, they stayed on to establish other settlements in the region.

Marinduque, together with Mindoro, the southeast part of Laguna and Camarines was made a part of Batangas when the latter was founded in 1581 by the Spaniards. (Balayan was the capital from 1597-1732; Taal, earlier known as Bonbon, in 1732; then Batangas (the present city) in 1754).

Early in the 17th century, the island of Marinduque was separated from Batangas and became a part of Mindoro as a corregimiento, town. In 1671 Marinduque functioned as a province but was later reduced as a Mindoro sub-province.

On April 28, 1898, with the overthrow of the last Spanish casadores (Tagalog soldiers) after armed conflict and hostilities with the revolutionists during the Philippine-Spanish War, Marinduque declared its separation from Mindoro and from Spanish rule, a move that was ratified by the ruling class from the different towns of the island-province. The local struggle was led by Martin Lardizabal, who was military governor of Marinduque's first revolutionary provincial government.

The first major victory of the Filipinos during the second phase of the Philippine revolution (the Filipino-American War) in Marinduque (1900-1901), occurred at the Battle of Pulang Lupa (Torrijos), when local forces led by Col. Maximo Abad defeated the American contingent under the command of Capt. Deverieux Shields. (The said battle was considered one of the most dramatic reversals the Americans suffered during the war with the Philippines).

On February 21, 1920, Marinduque became a separate province by virtue of Act No. 2880.

Mining prospectors discovered large copper deposits in 1956 and in the late 1960s, the island became home to one of the largest mining operations in the country. In March 1996, mine tailings from a holding pool leaked into the Boac River, destroying fishing resources in the river as well as in the coastal areas surrounding the river mouth. This was one of the worst ecological disasters in the country which eventually forced the closure of the copper mines in the province.

The Marinduqueños unique hospitality may be seen in their custom of welcoming and honoring friends and visitors in a ceremony called putong. The honorees are crowned with flowers while local women sing and dance before them. Other well-wishers throw petals and coins for long life.

Natural Resources of Marinduque, Philippines

Protect the environment

It is sad but true that as of the year 2012 the rivers of the Philippines continue to be the #1 Sewer Systems of the Philippines.

Protect & Save the Rivers. Do not let your sewer drain into the river. Your community can be the first to initiate this project.
Build your riverbank protection with a built-in gutter system. Reforest within Ten Years - Guaranteed!

Let us plant more trees in every barangay in the entire Philippines. It does not make any difference if the barangay is urban, partially urban or rural; we need more trees. Trees will prevent erosion, provide oxygen, prevent green house effect, and even a place of business for the shade tree mechanic.

The Philippines is a tropical country and practically anything will grow. The DENR has the planting trees project that goes on every year. Lots of picture taking for the media. Planting trees one by one is the "human" way of doing it. This individual planting of trees is good if done to "line" the roads and highways with trees or along fences or property divisions, or if you have a plantation.

To reforest the nation of the Philippines we have to plant trees the "mother nature" way. Sow the seeds during the rainy season. Go deep into "bald" forests and plant trees by sowing seeds. If there's not enough volunteers to do this, use the military helicopters to fly over the designated areas and sow the seeds.

Guaranteed within a few years, The Philippines will be lush again. >>Read More

We are using our rivers as our sewer system. If you ask a Filipino, "Are the Filipinos a clean people?" The answer is an automatic, "Yes!". However, the Filipinos are suffering from the same disease or attitude as most people do, and that is the "NIMBY" disease or "NIMBY" attitude. (NIMBY) Not In My Back Yard. So it is OK to dump my garbage and sewer there. Not mine! Someone else will take care of it.

This attitude is killing our rivers. Your great-grandparents, grandparents or parents were once proud to tell the stories of how they enjoyed swimming in the river behind your house or nearby. However, you can't say the same or tell the same stories to your kids or grand kids. Why? Because your generation is killing the river.

We have so much water in the Philippines and yet very little to drink.

Instead of relying too much on Diesel fuel and Coal to generate the majority of Philippine's Electrical energy Supply, we can concentrate more on renewable and sustainable source of energy such as: Hydro Power, Solar Power, and Wind Power and thermal energy conversion. We have too many black outs.

  • TRES REYES MARINE SANCTUARY - This area is located at the south-western part of the island province, consisting of the three (3) islets of Gaspar, Melchor and Baltazar. Skin and scuba diving is the best outdoor activity on this sanctuary. In between the first islet of Gaspar and the mainland, was discovered sunken Chinese commercial junk of the Sung and Chang Dynasty. Recovered by a joint team of National Museum and private foreign salvage group were numerous porcelain plates, jars, skillets and others. On the third islet of Baltazar, is an underwater cave on its eastern part 60 to 90 feet deep. Wall drift diving is at its best early in the morning where variety of coral and some pelagic fishes would be clearly visible.. Occasional schools of hammerhead sharks pass the western depths of the islets. An American built lighthouse still stands and still working on the center of the islet. Gaspar also has an elongated sand bar that is best for family picnics and swimming, a funeral grotto used by pre-Hispanic Filipinos complete with human bones and shards of potteries on the east and some secluded white sand beaches on the south.
  • BONLIW-CAGPO-POCTOY FISH SANCTUARY - This area is located on the eastern side of Torrijos, Marinduque established in cooperation of the local government of Torrijos, local fisherfolks, civic and non-government organizations. Within this sanctuary is the famous Poctoy White Beach, a favorite swimming and picnic area on this side of the province. One can have a very good view of Mt. Malindig on the south. Some of the private resorts owned by many Europeans are located here due to very nice secluded white sand beaches and coralline limestone formations.
  • MALINDIG VOLCANO - The highest peak on the island at 1,157 meters is the home of different species of wild orchids and other endemic wildlife. Festivals, Fiestas and Traditions of Marinduque, Philippines

In the Philippines a fiesta is usually celebrated in barrios or barangays. It is the official holiday of the LGU, the barangay. Filipinos love fiestas. It is a time for joy and celebration. A fiesta is of Spanish origin and is usually commemorated in association with a christian patron saint. Most barangays whose population have been clustered by Muslims(Moros) and their population is more than that of the Christians, the celebration of the fiesta have been cancelled and replaced with the Hari Raya or Eid al-Fitr.

The cities or municipalities usually have yearly festivals where all the barangays participate. The cities or municipalities hold contests for the best floats in parades. ---

Below is a list derived from the LGU of Marinduque:
  • MORIONES - The "Moriones" are men and women in costumes and masks replicating the garb of biblical Roman soldiers as interpreted by local folks. The term "moriones" was concocted by the media in the 60s, but local inhabitants have kept the original term, "Moryonan".
Many practitioners are farmers and fishermen who engage in this age-old tradition as a vow of penance or thanksgiving. Morions roam the streets in town from Holy Monday to Easter Sunday scaring the kids, or engaging in antics or surprises to draw attention.
This street theater reaches its climax on Easter Sunday with the mock beheading of Longinus, the play's central figure. Over time, with increased commercialization and political influence or control coming into the picture, the Moriones tradition appears to have lost its appeal to foreign tourists but continues to delight natives coming home for the weeklong Lenten holidays. The Moriones or Moryonan tradition inspired the creation of other festivals in the Philippines where cultural practices or folk history are turned into street festivals. It will thus remain a unique tradition Marinduqueños will keep nurturing as a symbol of their identity.
  • PUTONG - "Putong" is a traditional song-and-dance ritual performed by local folks as an expression of thanksgiving. Some versions could be traced from lines of the "Pasyon", the poetic narrative in Tagalog of the Passion of Christ that became popular here before the turn of the last century. "Putong" remains popular as a ritual that promotes good health, prosperity and success, and as a welcome ritual to honor visitors and guests to the island.
"Putong" (also called "Tubong" in some parts of the island), involves crowning the honoree with flowers or gaily-decorated crowns. The honoree is then handed a scepter of palm leaves to symbolize power. Coins are then tossed up in the air for luck; a shower of petals and leaves follows for good health amid shouts of "Viva!" or "Mabuhay!" Fiesta food (with the ever-present "pansit" noodles), and drinks (such as "tuba", coconut wine), are then served to everyone present.
  • KALUTANG - A small group of farmers and fisherfolks in Bangbang, a village in the town of Gasan appears to have been the first to introduce a Kalutang Band. "Kalutangs" are pairs of wood which when struck together produce notes of unique tonal quality. Only two to three notes may be produced by a pair of kalutang, such that intense focus and native discipline are required to enable each player to bang his kalutang at the right time to produce music ranging from folk to pop. The musical sound they make never fails to amaze listeners.
To ensure that their musical skills are handed down to the younger generation, elementary school kids in parts of Gasan are taught by the Bangbang kalutang masters. While kalutang has been associated with Morions of old who used the same instruments to produce a mere cacophony of sounds, it is believed to have been once part of Mangyan culture.

Solon seeks to hike fine for slander raps'

by Karen Boncocan

MANILA, Philippines—A lawmaker seeks to hike the fine for slander by deed or casting dishonor, discredit or contempt by 80 percent. House Bill 5831, authored by Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Jay Velasco, proposes the amendment of Article 359 of Act 3815 or the Revised Penal Code to increase its present fine ranging from P200 to P1,000 to P16,000 to P80,000. Fines will be “based on 1930 prices, the year the Revised Penal Code was enacted. The massive inflation and devaluation our currency has gone through renders the punitive fine component of the RPC negligible,” he said, pointing out that the inflation rate should be computed from 1930 up to the present. Velasco, who chairs the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments, said that other than the raised fine, the bill also seeks to impose the penalty of arresto mayor in its maximum period to prision correccional in its minimum period, depending on the nature of the violation. He added that it was important for punishments for offenses or crimes as well as imprisonment and civil disqualification components should be up to date in order to uphold the country’s penal laws.

If you want the tittle to be more generic then do this: "Philippines by Your name". You can insert your picture of anywhere in the Philippines in this page. This will be your personal WIKI social media page.
