Zambo solon joins Muslim world in the observance of Eid’l Adha

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Sept. 12 (PNA) –- First district Rep. Celso Lobregat is one with the Moslem brethren in the observance of the Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice on Monday, Sept. 12, which is being observed as an Islamic Holiday in the entire country and the world.

Lobregat has called on all Moslem brothers and sisters to also nurture the message of peace and reconciliation among fellow Filipinos, especially now where the government has declared the State of Lawlessness in the entire country.

Lobregat said the long-awaited quest for peace and freedom from the acts of terrorism in the country especially here in Mindanao is the dream of both Moslem and Christians alike.

Eid’l Adha is the tenth day in the month of Hajj or Islamic Pilgrimage to Mecca wherein Muslims pay homage to Abraham’s supreme act of sacrifice and signifies mankind’s obedience to God.

The Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice is a national holiday based on Republic Act 9849 enacted on July 12, 2009.

This holiday declaration creates another long weekend in the calendar this year.
