THE Zamboanga City Council, through an ordinance, has extended the period for the payment of business taxes from January 20 to January 31.

City Hall information officer Belen Sheila Covarrubias said the ordinance granting an extension was approved in a special session held Thursday, January 19.

Covarrubias said the approval of the ordinance is to accommodate all applications for business registrations and renewals submitted during the operations of the Business One-Stop Shop (Boss) which ran from January 3-20.

Payments and applications made and completed on or before January 31 will not be fined for late fees.

As of January 20, Covarrubias said the Boss has processed a total of 8,062 business registration and renewal applications.

The Boss will remain open at Centro Latino to process all submitted applications for registrations and renewals.

It will operate on regular hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.
