December 21, 2021 - You can make a difference however you want to do it - either send direct to your beneficiaries or join reliable proven fund-raising entities. Consider remittance transmission problems due to power failures and businesses destroyed, beneficiaries not anymore at addresses. Just an idea: A small donation of $100 feeds 40 families with 5 kilos of rice each (however that can be made to last). Which means 10 families can eat for $25 one sack of rice. Please feel free to contact Yolanda Ortega Stern or Albert Santoli FB accounts. Thank you for your big kind heart even with small donation this holiday season. I pray with my whole heart what happened to them in the Philippines will not happen again - to you, to me, and to all of you who read me. If this is something not possible that you can manage, I understand. With my best wishes for you and family. Thank you, all, who have indicated to donate - thank you for contacting me for instructions or visit the timelines of Yolanda Ortega Stern for One World Institute (OWI) or Albert Santoli for Asia America Initiative (AAI). Take your time this will be a long road to recovery of those impacted by the typhoon Odette. God bless you. Take care.

December 20, 2021 - My heart goes to the residents of Siargao Island particularly the Municipality of Del Carmen where the terminal of Sayak Airport was destroyed. Flights out were cancelled and stranded tourists await for evacuation flights out of the island. The airport is located in Barangay Sayak. My friends whom I have no contact yet are Mayor Proserfina Matugas Coro and Vice Mayor Alfredo Matugas Coro of Del Carmen. Vice Mayor Coro (former Mayor of Del Carmen) is a member of the Board of Directors of Our Barangay Inc. (www.zamboanga.com/obi). There is no communication right now due to power lines downed and being restored. The Municipality of Del Carmen, Siargao is one of the pilot sites of OBI. Any one in Del Carmen, Siargao, please contact me via Facebook. Thank you take care and God help us. Elsa Abordo Bayani, Facebook Robredo calls on airlines to boost Siargao flights for stranded tourists.

Dec. 7, 2021 FACEBOOK IS NOT YOUR EFFECTIVE MEANS TO GET WHAT YOU WANT - Facebook is a social media vehicle where you post your life events and activities, your photos, your family situations and circumstances, your fond wishes and personal opinions. Facebook also contains information about world events, progress and developments, problems and coping mechanisms. Many of us learn a lot of things never we had a chance to know or read elsewhere but only here in the internet and media outlets, search engines, Google, etc. However, it is not enough that we post, not enough that we read and let others know about ourselves. We have problems, complaints, dissatisfaction, needs and wants that require actions - either by doing them ourselves or by using the means and vehicles to obtain, achieve, and fulfill them. I mean, we are the means to that end. ONLY THEN BY BEING A PART OF THE SOLUTION, CAN WE EXPECT TO ENJOY AND CHERISH THE OUTCOMES AND THE RESULTS. We are helping make progress, helping to advance our desires and benefit from the results that we expect. How? If you perceive a problem that affects your life, you must try to be a part of the solution. To be a part of the solution, you must take action in any way, big or small, that contribute to the overall solution and the outcome that you hope to achieve. We are making progress, however, you may not realize it that you are not contributing consciously towards the outcome that we expect. I ask you to start off - try to be a part of the solution - a government that you dream of - because you are where you are right now - in the government of your barangay! FIRST - KNOW ALL ABOUT YOUR BARANGAY - www.zamboanga.com click on Barangays under the Wiki Sites. Then click on https://zamboanga.com/obi/barangays-power-and-authority/. We are making progress - right now we are engaged in creating an interactive wiki site for every one of each elected officials of 42,046 barangays x 8 officials = 336,368 wiki sites. During the coming 2022 barangay elections, YOU CAN CHECK ON EACH BARANGAY CANDIDATE ABOUT THEIR LIFE, ACCOMPLISHMENTS, ADVOCACIES, and ISSUES for the benefit of the barangay government. I am privy to the internet prowess of Franklin Harry Maletsky who created the million pages of 42,046 barangays, municipalities, cities, provinces and regions of the Phillippines, www.zamboanga.com - the largest group pages in the whole world. No one, no one, has yet outsmarted his gargantuan and herculean achievement about the Philippines. Good luck, God bless you, my friend and mentor, Franklin Harry Maletsky.

THIS IS SUPER BREAKING NEWS FOR ALL THOSE INTERESTED IN OUR ADVOCACY "EMPOWERMENT OF BARANGAYS" - the concept of governance from the BOTTOM (barangays) UP (to the President of the Philippines) - NOT FROM THE PRESIDENT DOWN TO THE BARANGAYS!!! If only YOU KNOW THE POWER OF GOVERNMENT COMES FROM THE POWER OF BARANGAY CITIZENS up from YOU to the Punong Barangay, to the Municipal Mayor, to the district congressman, to the senator, to the cabinet department, and LAST to the President of the Philippines!!! The power does not begin from the President down to you - RATHER THE POWER OF GOVERNMENT RESIDES FIRST FROM YOU - to the President. Know your barangay CODE OF GOVERNMENT. Know your rights, know what power resides in you that begins from you - for your benefits! Until you know your rights - JUST THEN YOU KNOW THE POWER IN YOU!
