CABARROGUIS, Quirino, Jan. | CABARROGUIS, Quirino, Jan. 28 (PIA) -- The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) here has reported that the 1,830 families who were rendered homeless by the previous typhoons will soon have new homes through the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Core Shelter Assistance Project. | ||
Provincial Social Welfare Officer Laura Matammu said the P202,883,600 fund from the DSWD intended for the project is now ready and the construction of houses has been started. | |||
Matammu said the core shelters will be constructed sporadically in the lots owned by the affected families in Diffun, Cabarroguis, Saguday and Aglipay and in communal sites donated by the local government units of Maddela and Nagtipunan . | |||
“Of the total amount, P128 million will be for the construction of core shelter units; P45 million for the emergency assistance of the 9,192 partially affected families and P28 million for the cash for work program,” Matammu disclosed. | |||
