Hello,

Sorry, for my long absence. I was talking to my elder sister about this and she said she wanted to write more about it in details. I think she's not yet that far, so i decided to send you some of the latest photos of the garden.

As you already know, this house belongs to Mr. & Mrs. Vicente and Carmen Lacandalo Basilio. I am the 9th of 10 children. I was born and grew up in this Nipa Hut for 25 years with so many wonderful memories. The peace, quiet and uncrowded place to mention a few. My husband is a swiss, who, i think was one of the last group of tourists who visited our place. That was in January 1984. Later, i can't remember group of tourists still coming to Zamboanga City.

Yes, the Nipa Hut has deteriorated after the death of our parents but, the garden still exists. Taken cared of by our youngest sister, Joy Basilio. I'm sharing here with you some pictures of the garden taken last May 2009 during my visit there. The small kiosk with nipa palm roof is where the Nipa Hut used to be. This is located at "Wall of China" Drive, Sta. Maria bdry. Pasonanca. You cannot see this garden from the main road because of the high fences infront of us with only 1 meter right-of-way. Hence , the name of the Drive.

You're always welcome to come and see the beauty of the garden.

Lily

De bien bale el nipa house. bien presko para esta.
