When these coconut trees are harvested, the climbers get to the top of the trees and cut out the mature nuts. When the coco-nuts fall, they just roll down the hill. The pickers then collect the nuts.

The local coconut industry needs attention.

As we can see, most coconut trees around the city limits are already or at least almost a century old! Thus harvesting and the overall production process is slow, laborious, costly and therefore not very profitable for the farmers. And besides, there is no deliberate secondary cropping under the coconut farms which could have generated additional income It is therefore necessary to replace them (these coconuts) with the varieties introduced by PCA and practice inter-cropping to enhance productivity and overall profitability of the local (coconut) farming.
