CABARROGUIS, Quirino, Jan. 24 (PIA) -- The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in region 2 is urging Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their legal beneficiaries to enroll in the Microsoft Tulay program, a special project in partnership with Microsoft Corporation which provides information and communication technology training to OFWs and their families to broaden their career opportunities. | |||
Nestle Baccay, OWWA-based Information Technology instructor, said only a few OFWs and their relatives are enrolled in the program that is why OWWA is doing everything to motivate them to avail of the program. | |||
Baccay said the program is open for students who want to learn basic computer applications such as MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, video editing as well as using the Internet. | |||
Baccay said this will enable the OFWs and their families to communicate through the Internet. | |||
The project also aims to address the primary issue of family disintegration. “Through the project, problems arising from OFWs’ prolonged separation from their families will be prevented,” Baccay added. (TCB/PIA 2) | |||
