TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental, August 29 (PIA) -- Tangub is once more getting ready for the celebration of its city fiesta on September 29. Major activities lined up for the event actually started with the deadline for registration of candidates for the Search for Miss Tangub City Tourism 2011, last Aug. 13. An acquaintance/fellowship of national agencies in celebration of the 111th Philippine Civil Service anniversary, have been scheduled on Sept. 8, that will be capped in the evening by a variety show at Sinanduloy Cultural Center. In the afternoon of September 9, candidates for Miss Tangub City Tourism will be formally presented to the public after the Alay Lakad at Tangub City Sports Complex. For the first time, the Alay Lakad will be done at 3:30 p.m., on the same day, instead of at dawn, as usually practiced, to get maximum participation of employees, students and citizens of the city. A city athletic meet, participated in by elementary and secondary schools of the Tangub City Schools Division is scheduled on Sept 16-18, while the time-honored ritual of changing the robe of St. Michael, the Archangel , at St. Michael’s Parish Church falls on Sept 20. On the following day, Sept 21, the Talent Competition Night of the candidates for Miss Tangub City Tourism will taker place while the Search for Miss Tangub City Tourism on have been scheduled on Sept. 24. The city-owned radio station, DXJT Radyo ng Bayan, will turn four (4) years old on Sept 26 while a Cultural Night, a competition of folk dances, among the city employees of both local and national agencies, is set on Sept 28. The Search for Dalit Festival Queen, Dalit Festival Street dancing and showdown that follow the next day, Sept. 29, will conclude the city fiesta celebration. (CIO/PIA-10) | |||
