22nd Kumbira culinary show set

KUMIBIRA 2018 Culinary Show and Live Competitions will once again take center stage on August 15 to 17 to showcase various food and beverage competitions, cooking seminars and demonstrations by experts in the food industry, trade exhibits on hotel and restaurant equipment and supplies, among others.

Kumbira, a flagship project of the Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurant Association (Cohara), is a major event in time for the annual fiesta of Cagayan de Oro City in honor of its patron, St. Augustine.

Now on its 22nd year, this year's Kumbira will center on the theme: “The Kitchens of Mindanao,” which will highlight and focus on Mindanao cuisine.

The culinary show will present nine competitions for the Professional category, 13 for the Student Division, two for the Kiddie Division, four for the Junior and Senior High Division, one for Brand Competition, and two for Open Competition.

The competitions of the 22nd Kumbira are in partnership with the 2018 National Food Showdown, a production of Alimentaria Inc.

The winning team of Chef Wars-Mindanao will compete in the finals during the 2018 National Food Showdown in October 26 to 27 to be held at Elements at Centris, Eton Centris, EDSA cor. Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
