'''Arriving MCIA int’l travelers must have negative test results'''.<br>
'''Davao to unveil new tourist police office in March'''.<br>
CEBU CITY – Aside from proofs of vaccination, all inbound international passengers at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) starting February 1 must present negative results of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests taken within 48 hours before departing the country of origin. The memo released Friday will apply to Filipinos and foreigners alike. A passenger who is unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or whose vaccination cannot be validated must also have a negative RT-PCR test result, will be swabbed upon arrival, and must stay in a quarantine facility until the release of the second test taken on the fifth day after arrival.
DAVAO CITY – Even as the city continues to fight against the pandemic, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) is keen on completing the new Tourist Police Unit (TPU) office located at the center of commerce, beside one of the popular shopping malls here along J.P. Laurel Avenue. Capt. Raymundo Bacera, acting city TPU chief, told the Philippine News Agency on Monday that the construction of its building was initially eyed for completion in October 2021 but was reset several times due to changing coronavirus disease 2019 restrictions. “It was pushed further because of the pandemic but we are looking at March 2022 as the new completion date,” he said.

'''CPP-NPA getting ‘irrelevant’ in Visayas: Viscom chief'''<br>
'''Baguio requires prior approval for private gatherings'''<br>
CEBU CITY – The Visayas Command (Viscom) on Saturday said communist rebels in the regions are fast becoming irrelevant due to dwindling support from the residents, sustained community engagement of soldiers, and the Barangay Development Program (BDP) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC). In a statement, Lt. Gen. Robert Dauz, Viscom commander, said the Community Support Program (CSP) has amplified the direct engagement of the government forces to the communities which led the people to detach from the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA).
BAGUIO CITY – The city government here said residents may now hold private gatherings but the venue needs to be inspected and approved a week before the set date. Aileen Refuerzo, Public Information Office chief, in a phone interview on Monday, said the rule is part of Executive Order 5-2022 issued by Mayor Benjamin Magalong on January 7 providing for measures to control the further spread of the Omicron variant of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). Refuerzo said “the host must first obtain a permit to gather from the mayor’s office at least seven days before the conduct of the private gathering activity, the approval of which will be subject to the inspection of the City Health Service Office (CHSO)".
