MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, Dec. 6 (PIA) -- Maasin City officials led by City Mayor Maloney Samaco is set to receive five special awards in the implementation of health and nutrition programs today, December 6 in Tacloban City. | |||
In an interview over radio station DyDM, Samaco disclosed that the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Office 8 will give five different awards to Maasin City: the Red Orchid Award, the Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN), the best implementers of Anti-Tuberculosis Campaign, and the Health Lifestyle, while the Most Outstanding in the implementation of smoke-free college is accorded to Maasin City College. | |||
Hataw exercises, fun run, zumba classes, to name a few, also contribute to the healthy lifestyle of the residents in Maasin City, not to mention the strict implementation of the no smoking campaign. “The health and nutrition program benefits 85,000 populace in Maasin City, the city mayor said." | |||
Mayor Samaco is grateful for the support of the health implementers in Maasin City, saying that “CHU personnel led by the health physicians to include nurses, barangay health workers, and barangay nutrition scholars contribute to the success in the implementation of the health and nutrition programs of the city government.” | |||
