Zamboanga Sibugay Province, Philippines

The province of Zamboanga Sibugay is the 79th province of the country. It has just celebrated its 8th Araw ng Sibugay with again the longest "Talaba Grill" in the world. Though 8 years old, the province is not among the poorest ten provinces of the country according to the records of the NAPC. The province is known as the rubber capital of the Philippines and is set to host the biggest International Rubber Congress this year 2009.

Geography of Zamboanga Sibugay Province, Philippines

Of the 16 municipalities of Sibugay only 3 are landlocked (Diplahan, Imelda and Titay). The rest are coastal municipalities.

The Province of Zamboanga Sibugay has 389 barangays with a total land area of 336,322 hectares (3,363.22 sq. km.). Its coastal areas are surrounded in its middle by the big and beautiful Sibuguey Bay, the smaller Dumanquilas Bay to its eastern border, the great Moro Gulf to its south and the Celebes Sea beyond.
