I just came to search for the beautiful place called Talisayan. The place where I grew up & was enlightened most. I found the site to which I can share and talk about fond memories. I have spent most of my childhood years in Talisayan. I can never forget the names of my teachers who made a difference to who I have become now. Mrs Jovita Benito (1st Grade), Mrs. Obdamen (2nd Grade), Mrs Lacambra (3rd Grade), Mrs. Mandain (4th Grade), Mrs De Zena (5th Grade), Mrs. Canonigo (6th Grade), Mr. Enriquez, Mrs. Rojas & Mrs. Artates are my (Special Subject Teachers) and of course our Principal, Mr. Nicolas. This was way back, 1980-1986. Those were wonderful school years. I come from a very well rounded family. My grandparents, who are locals, Mr. & Mrs. Paciano & Felecitas Borromeo were well respected in our place. They raise their children, Cecilia Borromeo married to Jun Sapayla, Jesusa Borromeo married to Felipe Carpio, Elidia Borromeo married to Nicolas Ramirez, Rosalina Borromeo & Francisco Borromeo married to Rosario Matarlo. They lived in Purok 4, the center of the barrio. Mostly only relatives have stayed there. And since, it has been a very long time, I am not sure if it’s still the same. The last time I took my vacation there was during the internment of my Grandmother in 2001. Talisayan is really a small, simple yet great place. We are just about 200 Meters away from the beach and about 3 kilometers far from the mountain. I still remember that we always gather some vegetables in the rice field and sell it for means of living. I also sell some goodies in my school, fish & vegetables from house to house & the likes just for me to be able to help out. I did not experience much fun during my childhood days. My grandmother & uncle were so strict. I continued High School at Ayala since there was no high school yet in Talisayan. Proceed to Manila and did college and took up Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Management @ Technological Institute of the Philippines. At present, I am here in the Abu Dhabi, UAE connected with Drake & Scull International LLC. Our roots really help us a lot to be brighter and even better. I really missed the place called Talisayan, and hoping that one of these days, I shall be back. Ups there you go I just did my recent visit and I was surprise with the progress there are lot’s of changes, more manufacturing firms & resorts, maybe one day, you can also visit this wonderful place.
