The | The word Batad is a hiligaynon term for a sundial shell, which is abundant in several Philippine shores including Embarcadero a Barangay of Batad located along the seashore that was originally called "Dulangan". It must have been the first barangay discovered by Spanish explorers having given its Spanish name Embarcadero, a derivation from the Spanish word "EMBARCAR", or to embark.
