+The name "Ilongbukid" for this barangay has its origin coined from two descriptive words: ILO  which means alone or by itself; and BUKID which stands for "hilly" earth promontory that rises above ground. The hilly earth promontory that stands alone or by itself was called "ilo" "bukid". However, the two words together have to be joined by a conjunctive "ng", hence, ILO NG BUKID, or together, ILONGBUKID. Contribution by Elsa Armada Abordo Bayani, a native of Brgy. Ilongbukid.
