ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal- Around 50 local and international companies will be joining the Mega Job Fair to be held at the People’s Center near the Cainta Municipal Hall this May 10.
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal- Cainta, in partnership with the Rizal Ophthalmology Society, is holding screenings for a cataract operation this month of May.


The job fair will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with 1,500 to 2,000 job vacancies from the different companies. According to Cainta Public Employment Services Office (PESO) job coordinator Elvie Nipa, companies, mostly from the call centers and manufacturing industries as well as other lines of work, will be hiring on the said date. She also stated that some jobs are available for those who only completed high school.
Screening procedures are held every Sunday, 1:00 p.m., at the Bagong Cainta Municipal hospital in order to ensure that the patients are eligible for the operation.


Cainta usually holds job fairs around May but plans to hold another on November this year. The job fair is based on a program by the Department of Labor and Employment coursed through the Cainta PESO and implemented and approved by Municipal Mayor Ramon Ilagan in order to increase local job generation.
According to Cainta Tourism and Information Officer Richard Melendez, the local government will hold the cataract operations when there are enough registered patients in the program.


Applicants are required to bring their resumes during the job fair. The program is also open to non-Cainta residents.
The cataract screening and operation program is a program through the office of Mayor Ramon Ilagan and the local ophthalmology society in order to give the less privileged senior citizens with cataract an opportunity to be treated free of charge.
