-ANTIPOLO CITY- The Rizal Provincial Government spearheaded by Special Events Council Chair Governor Jun Ynares recently announced that the nominations for the 2012 Anak ng Lahing Bayani (ALAB) ng Rizal award are open.
+ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal- The Antipolo City Public Employment Services Office (PESO) will be holding a job fair in collaboration with SM Masinag this Labor Day.
-The ALAB ng Rizal award aims to give special recognition to the province’s citizens who have excelled in their respective fields through excellence, achievements, and exemplary leadership qualities. According to Governor Ynares, the nominations will be accepted until May 11, 2012.
+PESO OIC Engr. Roger Atim said during an interview that the job fair is based on a program by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) which is being implemented through the support of the local government and Mayor Nilo Leyble.
-This year’s ALAB ng Rizal, managed by the Rizal Provincial Government’s Special Event’s Council, will coincide with the 111th Araw ng Lalawigan ng Rizal.
+PESO is responsible for around 40 companies with job openings aside from SM-affiliated companies which are also in need of new employees. According to PESO there are more or less 5 vacancies per company and around 2 to 3 applicants for each position.
-The provincial government encourages different sectors to submit their nominees for the award considered to be the highest recognition to be given to a Rizaleno.
+Atim said they are also planning to hold another job fair by October this year in order to boost the city’s employment rate. He also mentioned that the PESO is looking to meet its ‘self-imposed’ goal of 20% reduction of unemployment per year through generating more jobs.
-According to the ALAB Secretariat at the Rizal Provincial Information and Special Concerns Office, various media have been used for the dissemination of the nomination forms, including the social media, to ensure a wider scope of distribution.
