CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, Jan. 12 (PIA) -– January is not even halfway yet, but as early as now, Philhealth beneficiaries have already increased by 10,000 in the province. | |||
According to Ernanie C. Decena, health insurance manager of Oriental Mindoro, the figure was added to last year’s record of about 78,000 PhilHealth beneficiaries. | |||
The provincial government has allotted a total of P58 million to support the universal health coverage program of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. | |||
Decena also said that the provincial government initiated last year a computerized data base system to record the names of their constituent-members to avoid duplication of health cards issued by both national and local governments. | |||
The program assures access by Mindoreños to government health programs, especially those from the rural barangays. The health cards issued by the provincial government are now valid starting this month until December this year. (LBR/LTC/PIA4-B Or. Mindoro) | |||
