| CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, Jan. 10 (PIA) -- The campaign against human trafficking requires the full participation and cooperation of the public, stressed the legal counsel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development during a recent forum at the Capitol Square in this city.

| Atty. Eric Henry Joseph Mallonga came here to explain the provisions of Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Human Trafficking Act. The primary target of human traffickers are mostly women and minors, he noted.

| He explained that human trafficking starts from illegal recruitment to transporting the victims even without reasons or payment. The victims are then sold as slaves, entertainers or organ donors.
