CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, | CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, December 23 (PIA) -- Five police officers were recognized by the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro (PGOM) as 2011 Outstanding Police Officers on Dec. 12. | ||
In a simple ceremony held at Capitol Square, Gov. Alfonso V. Umali, Jr. together with Philippine National Police (PNP) Provincial Director P/SSupt. Anthony S. Alcañeces and Board Member Romeo G. Infantado led the awarding rite to the best performers of PNP officers in the province. | |||
SPO1 Rosalinda C. Mamburan, the only female police officer was recognized for her dedication and responsibility of taking care of the youth, especially females whose rights were abused. She assisted victims in filing 22 related cases against those who infringed the law. | |||
SPO1 Reden P. Dueñas was chosen as one of the outstanding police officers for his responsibilities in making the city proper of Calapan orderly and organized and thereby recognized by his fellow officers in the PNP and even ordinary citizens for him to deserve such prestigious award. | |||
Meanwhile, SPO1 Severino U. Paala, Police Senior Inspector Anthony J. Ramos, and Police Chief Inspector Neil R. Apostol were chosen as ‘Oriental Mindoro’s Finest’ because of their synchronized and organized coordination to curb or control the proliferation of illegal activities and series of robberies of ‘Villanueva Gang’ in the southernmost part of the province. | |||
The five awardees received plaque of recognition and P10,000 each as incentives from the provincial government. | |||
It can be recalled that the Search for Outstanding Police Officers is now on its 4th year since it was implemented in 2008 based on Provincial Ordinance No. 003-2003. It is an annual search to give due recognition to PNP officers whose expertise centered in curbing all kinds of crimes to maintain peace & order and protect the lives and properties of all Mindoreños. | |||
The search committee was composed of Provincial Director Samuel Borja and his staff Joyce F. Cree of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Rolando M.
