CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, Dec. 6 (PIA) –- A total of157 applicants have qualified for jobs offered by 25 employment agencies including those looking for workers abroad during the recent Provincial Job and Livelihood Fair at the Jose J. Leido, Jr. Memorial National High School gymnasium in this city. | |||
Some 100 applicants, who underwent follow-up interviews, were asked to submit additional requirements for the jobs they had earlier applied for. | |||
During the program, the provincial government awarded 15 ‘Nego Karts’ to qualified beneficiaries who also received P2,500 each as initial capital for their business. | |||
The ‘Nego Kart’ program is a joint project of the Department of Labor and Employment regional office and the provincial government. It aims to uplift the welfare of the people especially those who wish to start small businesses. | |||
Other government agencies also offered their services during the jobs fair like the Professional Regulation Commission, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Home Development and Mutual Fund, Social Security System, National Statistics Office, Government Service Insurance System, and Bureau of Internal Revenue.
