CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, November 22 (PIA) -- A total of 27 farmers has graduated from the Farmer’s Field School in barangay Managpi, a project of the City Agricultural Services Department.
CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, November 23 (PIA) -- The 69 Day Care centers here received a total of 345 sacks of rice and kitchen utensils from the city social welfare office last November 11 as requirement for the city’s feeding program.
The school aimed to educate farmers with conventional and modern palay planting techniques which include the right preparation of the planting site, the palay variety to choose from, proper ways of applying fertilizers, application of pesticides and identification of insects that help the plants grow.
City Social Welfare Officer Juvy L. Bahia said that her office also provided 68 pieces of casseroles, 68 frying pans, and 2,199 pieces of plates, spoons, forks, bowls, and tumblers. An additional P10 budget for each Day Care pupil was likewise provided.
