In commemoration of the declaration of Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature on November 11, 2011, the City of Puerto Princesa is celebrating for the third time the ‘PPUR Day’ on November 3 to 12, 2016.

“This year’s celebration is focused in making an impact, celebrating the PPUR’s outstanding universal value, not just to the communities within the park, but in the entirety of the City and hopefully, nationally and internationally,” said Elizabeth Maclang, Protected Area and World Heritage Site Manager.

There are some activities in relation to the celebration, namely, the 2nd PPSRNP International Bird Photography Race, Search for Eco-tourism Ambassador, Quiz Show, Sayawit, Tree Planting, Medical Missions and other show intended for the community, as well as tourists.

For the first time, the PPSRNP or PPUR will also be having a Community-Based Sustainable Tourism Fair which formally launches new tourism destinations within the Park.
