ANGELES CITY - City Councilor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin appealed to the public not to use parking spaces reserved for senior citizens and persons with disability (PWD).

Lazatin issued the statement after filing on July 27 a proposed ordinance that seeks to provide free parking spaces for senior citizens and PWDs in all business establishments and hospitals here.

Lazatin said the city government should institute additional policies that seek to protect the interest and well-being of Senior Citizens and PWDs.

Business establishments and hospitals shall allocate at least 10 percent of their total parking space for senior citizens and PWDs for free.

Parking spaces for seniors and PWDs should be located along the entrance of business establishments and hospitals.

The City Building Officials and Business Permit and Licensing Division (BPLD) are tasked to conduct inspection prior to granting of new or renewal of Mayorís Permit if the establishmentsí parking spaces exist or not.

Operators, managers or owners of business establishments or hospitals found violating the ordinance may be fined P3,000 for the first offense, P4,000 for second offense, P5,000 for third offense and cancellation of business permit for fourth offense.

Lazatin appealed to the public not to use parkings that are specifically intended for senior citizens and PWDS.
