ZAMBOANGA CITY, July 9 (PNA) -– The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) is set to turn over PhP3 million worth of common service facilities (CSF) to selected agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) in two provinces here in Region 9.

Atty. Ramon Madronal Jr., DAR assistant regional director, said Thursday that the ARBOs are from the province of Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur.

Madronal said a total of 20 units of CSFs will be distributed to the ARBOs. The CSFs consist of 15 units hand tractors, four corn shellers, and one floating tiller.

Madronal said that four of the 15 hand tractors worth P700,000 will be distributed to the Siari Valley Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SVARBEMCO) of Zamboanga del Norte.

He said the remaining 11 hand tractors, four corn shellers and the floating tiller will be given to the ARBOs of Zamboanga del Sur.

He said they have yet to fix the date as to when the equipment will be turned over to the farmer-beneficiaries.

DAR Regional Director Felix Aguhob said Thursday the new farming machines will greatly improve and make farming easier for the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).

Aguhob said the equipment are being provided to ARBOs under Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) being implemented by the agency.

Aguhob said DAR, through ARCCESS, will introduce new farming technology to the farmer beneficiaries to develop their organizations and ultimately increase farm yield.
