THE Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) successfully won the bid to host Routes Asia 2019 in Cebu.
MCIAA Director Julius Neri Jr. said Routes Asia is the biggest meeting of airports, airlines and other aviation industry stakeholders in Asia.
MCIAA officials and members of the board, together with the DOT, were on hand at World Routes 2017 in Barcelona to receive the good news.
According to its website, Routes Asia is a route development event serving the region and is a platform to discuss route development opportunities with top decision makers.
It brings together airlines, airports, tourism authorities and aviation suppliers and offers organizations the chance to meet with some of the most influential aviation stakeholders in Asia.
