NAVAL, Biliran, Sept. 26 (PIA) – Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman is expected to visit the province of Biliran specifically the town of Kawayan, one of the eight towns in the province on Friday, September 30, 2011.
NAVAL, Biliran- Twenty six bags of fresh blood were donated by the Philippine National Police (PNP), Biliran Provincial Office led by Police Senior Superintendent Alfredo Sabornido during the blood letting on Thursday, October 6 which was conducted right at the provincial camp in Brgy. Larrazabal, Naval, Biliran.

This was learned by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Biliran Provincial Information Center from Felix Carcillar, Information Officer-designate of the local government unit (LGU) of Kawayan headed by Mayor Gerardo Espina, Sr. in a mobile phone interview.
This was bared by Police Officer I Venus Abrigo of the PNP Biliran Police Community Relations in an interview with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Biliran Provincial Office.

He said, while in Kawayan, Secretary Soliman will attend a convergence meeting with the constituents in said municipality together with the mayors of the province.
She said, actually, there were more than 30 volunteer blood donors from the PNP provincial command including the 4th year Criminology students of the Naval State University (NSU) assigned in the unit as on-the-job trainees who submitted for screening before the actual extraction of blood, however, only 26 of them were found fit and qualified to donate blood.

He added that one of the issues that the secretary will tackle with the audience is on poverty alleviation concerns.
Of the 26 volunteer blood donors, 16 were PNP men and 10 were criminology students.

Further, Carcillar informed that part of the activities of the convergence meeting is a free medical mission that will also be conducted in the municipality of Kawayan.
The volunteer blood donors were examined by Dr. Fernando Montejo, Municipal Health Officer (MHO) of Naval, Biliran to ensure they were fit to donate blood.

The blood donors were also made to answer a three-page questionnaire to evaluate their qualifications to donate blood to be added to the stock of fresh blood of the Biliran Provincial Hospital blood bank.

The series of blood letting scheduled by the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Naval has resumed starting today, October 6, after it was temporarily stopped due to the preparations of the Naval fiesta in October 1, 2011.

In today’s blood letting which is a half-day affair only, PIA-Biliran, being one of the coordinating agencies to the activity could not join the group because the schedule was in conflict with the regular Kaiphan sa PIA forum which is held every Thursday.

The blood letting conducted by RHU-Naval is in line with the National Voluntary Blood Donation Program of the government carrying the theme “Dugo Mo, Buhay Ko”.

Wars of ancient history were about possessions, territory, power, control, family, betrayal, lover's quarrel, politics and sometimes religion.

But we are in the Modern era and supposedly more educated and enlightened .

Think about this. Don't just brush off these questions.

  • Why is RELIGION still involved in WARS? Isn't religion supposed to be about PEACE?
  • Ask yourself; What religion always campaign to have its religious laws be accepted as government laws, always involved in wars and consistently causing WARS, yet insists that it's a religion of peace?

WHY??

There are only two kinds of people who teach tolerance:
  1. The Bullies. They want you to tolerate them so they can continue to maliciously deprive you. Do not believe these bullies teaching tolerance, saying that it’s the path to prevent hatred and prejudice.
  2. The victims who are waiting for the right moment to retaliate. They can’t win yet, so they tolerate.

MANILA – Kaya Iloilo pipped Mendiola with a 6-0 beating on Wednesday night to complete a sweep of Group B action in the Copa Paulino Alcantara at the PFF National Training Centre in Carmona.

A Jovin Bedic brace in the first half set the tone for the inaugural tournament champ even as the club netted three goals in each of the two halves to seal the top seed in its group ahead of the semifinals next week.
