Angeles to experience power interruption on August 31

ANGELES CITY -- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has advised residents in Angeles City to take precautions and necessary preparations for a power interruption scheduled on August 31, Monday.

The power interruption is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 12 noon (Mexico-AEC 69kV Line 1) and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Mexico-AEC 69kV Line 2).

NGCP Corporate Communications Officer Ernest Lorenz Vidal said some of its transmission facilities located in Mexico, Pampanga will be shutdown to facilitate load splitting of line 1 and 2 and replacement of potential transformer for metering and protection purposes.

Specific barangays to be affected by the power interruption are determined by Distribution Utility (Angeles City Electric Corporation), unless the power interruption affects the entire franchise area.

The distribution utility allots the available power within its franchise area and implements the power interruption schedule among the end users.

Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion, Vidal said.
