THE University of San Carlos Cebuano Studies Center (USC CSC), in cooperation with the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF), will host the national conference on Cebuano language and literature on April 25-27 at the USC Gansewinkel Hall.

The conference aims to address the issues and challenges of Cebuano language and literature in the struggle to improve the languages and literatures of the Philippines.

Topics to be discussed are: history of Cebuano literature; Cebuano literature and the formation of the national literature; contemporary Cebuano literature; and Cebuano language/in Central Visayas in line with K-12 and MTB-MLE.

There will be an awarding ceremony for the advocates of Cebuano, namely, Dr. Resil Mojares, Dr. Erlinda Alburo, Cordova Mayor Adelino Sitoy and Atty. Cesar Kilaton Jr.

Mga Inalisngaw sa akong Tutunlan, the latest poetry collection by multi-awarded writer and editor of Bisaya magazine Richel Dorotan will be launched during the program.

Participants from Central Visayas schools’ principals, teachers in the elementary, secondary and tertiary levels as well as writers and students are all invited to attend this activity.
