CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, December 2 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government here now supports the ‘Legacy Tree Growing’ program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). | |||
Through this program, people in the community were able to plant trees again at Heritage Museum located at Sitio Ariguy of San Teodoro town. | |||
The Earth Day Network Philippines joined in this endeavor to continuously promote the ways of caring for the Earth. | |||
According to Ryan Vita, Trees for life Supervisor, they promote proper ways of caring trees especially the Philippine native trees for bio-diversity conservation. | |||
He said that this activity is also a move to enlighten the community on the importance of planting trees to one’s life. | |||
More than 80,000 seedlings are to be planted in a 2,000-hectare land in the area. | |||
