Camiguin launches ‘Isle be There’ tourism campaign.
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Camiguin provincial government rolled out Friday its “Isle be There” rebranding theme to welcome tourists with a fresh start from the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. Gov. Xavier Jesus Romualdo said the new tourism slogan is part of the provincial government’s transformation and development plans, with communities and establishments cooperating for its success. “We are also going for the digitalization, to have ‘Smart Tourism’ where tourists can enjoy the island (with ease),” Romualdo said during the opening program.
3 DPWH projects to protect Aurora coastal villagers from flood
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of three flood mitigation projects in coastal communities of Aurora province that will protect residents during typhoon season. Engineer Roderick Andal, head of the DPWH-Aurora District Engineering Office, said on Friday the completed projects are worth PHP205.88 million. These are the 1,968-lineal meter concrete flood wall on steel sheet pile foundation along the Maria Aurora Main Creek, of which 1,055 lineal meters are situated in Maria Aurora town; 720 lineal meters in Barangay Umiray, Dingalan town; and 193 lineal meters in Dipaculao town.
What is the Sangguniang Panlungsod?
The Sangguniang Panlungsod is composed of the City (Municipality) Vice-Mayor as Presiding Officer, regular Sanggunian members (Councilors), the President of the Association of Barangay Captains and the President of the Sangguniang Kabataan.
They shall exercise and perform the legislative powers and duties as provided for under Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991. Shall consider and conduct thorough study all matters brought to their attention and consequently pass resolutions, enact ordinances and to introduce recommendations.
Budget of Municipalities and Cities: The Philippine budget formulation system is not centralized. It has been decentralized since 1991. It is the responsibility of each LGU to submit their budgetary needs for review. Failure to submit is the problem. “IMPERIAL MANILA IS A MYTH!”.
- We need a representation of a MINIMUM of one SENATOR per REGION. The constituents of the current senators are all the registered voters of the nation. It must be changed. Make it for the regional level. This will allow every single Region (17) to be represented by at least one senator.
- Contrary to a recent popular statement: Elected public officials can’t be suspended by the DILG or the office of the president unless an official complaint has been filed. Republic Act 7160 chapter 4.
