GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines – The head of the village of Talos in Malungon, Sarangani province, was wounded in an attack by a lone gunman Tuesday evening, police said Wednesday.
Joey Espinosa, 39, was on his way home from the village center around 10 p.m. when attacked, according to Chief Inspector Alvin Martin, Malungon police chief.
“He sustained two bullet wounds and was immediately rushed to a hospital in General Santos,” Martin said.
He said police investigators were still trying to find out what type of weapon the gunman used as well as the assailant’s identity and motive.
