The Late History of Chavacano de Zamboanga (1899 - Present)

The Jesuit presence can still be experienced in Zamboanga today with the establishment of their school, Ateneo de Zamboanga, in 1916.  Sadly, the pioneering spirit and community works of the founding Jesuits are no longer evident in today's hustle and bustle.  Has the focus changed over the centuries?  Ironically, theirs is a symbiotic existence with the Chavacanos.  If history is a guiding light, let the light shine brightly once again. 

The Middle History of Chavacano de Zamboanga (1718 - 1899)
