  Zamboanga City is busy putting up lots of buildings. Downtown, there are 6 new buildings going up. A new shopping center (Mall) is also planned across the street from the main fire department.

   Zamboanga City: The City that gave birth to all the Zamboanga Provinces in its namesake peninsula!  The historical town of Zamboanga is proud to have its name used by so many and its Chavacano language spoken by million+ - it's the only Spanish-based Creole in all of Asia. Wow!

We recommend this endemic passerine bird to be named the official bird of Zamboanga City, and bestowed legalized city  protection, with introduction of a special cultivation program in the watershed preserve to help  remove it from the world's near-threatened bird species.
